우리 삶의 부조리를 드러낸다.

 

색깔이라면 무채색

맛이라면 무미한 영화의 진행이

상식을 돌아보게 하는 통쾌함과

진정을 외면하는 세상에 대한 가슴아픔과

그래도 의연히 "사람"속에서 희망을 찾는 따뜻함을 동시에 준다.

 

마음속의 소란함을 쓸어내리듯

정화되는 느낌의 감동이다.

 

....호준과 계상의 만남은 희망의 가능성을 품게 해달라는 영화적, 사회적 기도다. 믿음이 오그라든 자에게 믿음이 강성한 자가 방문하는 이야기가 <방문자>다. 영화는 두 사람의 만남을 통해 제3의 희망을 보고 싶어한다. 감독의 말에 따르면 계층이 다를 뿐 둘 “모두 아웃사이더”다. 그러나 결국은 믿음을 가진 아웃사이더가 그 믿음의 흔적을 오래전에 저버린 아웃사이더에게 내리는 정성 지극한 산상수훈이다. 계상은 결국 방문의 목적을 이룬 셈이지만, 그 전도의 내용은 종교적 설파가 아니라 너의 신념을 회복하라는 사회적 입장에 대한 종용이 된다. 계상은 감옥에 들어가고, 호준은 가정과 함께 감정의 온기를 되찾는다. 영화의 마지막 장면에 나오는 반공 표지판을 땅에 묻어버리고 밟는 누군가의 맨발은, 그러므로 도로 자기의 길을 찾은 호준의 신체일 가능성이 크다.....신동일 감독의 장편 데뷔작이다.   글 : 정한석(씨네21)
